Heat the bolts for easier removal. It takes about 5 minutes using propane to melt the factory lock-tite.

Warning about removing the steering column to prevent damage.

Tip to use the seat belt to keep the steering wheel from turning. I used a ratchet strap in addition to the seatbelt.

Steering Rack

Video 3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LHxLjHCgtk

This video shows how to drop the subframe a little bit to get access to the steering rack.

The boot that goes over the inner tie rod is the bellows boot.

The bolt in the steering column comes out first. It is a 10mm located next to the brake pedal inside the car.

Drain the fluid from the reservoir!

The fluid lines that go into the rack have a 10mm holding the plate on for the lines.

The rack is held on by two bolts that face up. 15 mm

The rack will go out through the passenger side

Inner Tie Rod

22 mm open end wrench for jam nut. This is the nut at the end of the inner tie rod. 15 mm socket for tie rod end.

It takes a special tool to remove the inner tie rod. The tool is around $50 to $75.

Knuckle and Strut

This repair is extremely difficult. I would replace both the knuckle, hub and struts all at the same time.

These parts are often very rusted because of the location.
